Young people are not only the generation of the future but also active members of society today, and their experiences have long provided rich material for cinema. This year, the Seoul International Children's Film Festival proudly introduces a new Youth Section, presenting outstanding films from around the world that place teenagers and their stories at the center. This year's selections offer fresh, honest, and sometimes delightfully rebellious perspectives that challenge conventional adult ways of seeing the world. Premiering at this year's Sundance Film Festival, <Run Amok> follows a teenage girl coping with the loss of her mother after a school shooting. <Edie Arnole is a Loser>, screened at SXSW, tells the spirited story of an outcast teenage girl who discovers her talent as a heavy metal drummer and stages her own joyful rebellion. The accompanying short films have likewise been showcased at major international festivals, including Cannes and Locarno. We warmly invite audiences to join us on this moving, humorous, and heartfelt journey into the world of today's youth.
