As interest in books and literary content continues to grow, the Seoul International Children's Film Festival presents a special program celebrating both literature and cinema. This year's program features two films based on acclaimed literary works, followed by post-screening talks.

The first is Terry Zwigoff's <Ghost World>, adapted from Daniel Clowes' graphic novel of the same title. It follows best friends Enid and Rebecca as they graduate from high school and face the uncertainties of adulthood while searching for their identities. The second is Steven Spielberg's <Ready Player One>, based on Ernest Cline's bestselling science fiction novel. Set in a near future where people immerse themselves in a virtual world, the film follows Wade, an orphan living with his aunt, whose online adventure ultimately leads him to rediscover the value of reality. Though different in style and setting, both films explore themes that resonate with today's audiences: the search for identity and the balance between the online and offline worlds. Following the screening of <Ghost World>, a special talk will be held with writer and stand-up comedian Won So-yun.
